Treatments
This section will be expanded in the future to include details on desensitisation treatments and anti-IgE vaccines, but suffice to say that at the moment there are no effective and reliable treatments which are licensed for use in the UK.
Many people offer treatments for allergies, including detoxification treatments and the like. You should research carefully before spending any money on these forms of treatment, looking for non-anecdotal evidence that they have been successful.
Quackwatch is an excellent site that examines treatments which are of no proven benefit, and their allergy page is well worth reading.
Similarly, some practitioners claim to be able to detect allergies through unorthodox methods. Many people who visit these practitioners will be diagnosed with multiple allergies which require 'clearing', and there is no evidence that these detection methods are at all accurate.
