It's a pain in the bum to find safe sweets.

Nestle do a nut-free list, available from http://www.nestle.co.uk/Nutrition/DietaryAvoidanceLists/

Staples like (ordinary) Kit Kats, Rolos, Toffee Crisps, etc are safe, but some of their snack sizes or alternative versions are not.

Kinnertons do a good plain choc bar. It's 100g of dark chocolate and retails for a bit over a quid at most of the big supermarkets. It's got a black wrapper with three coloured circles on the front, one marked nut free, one dairy free and one gluten free (I think).

The Fabulous Baking Boys do good nut free stuff, and make chocolate cupcakes, flapjacks and muffins. I'm a big fan of their blueberry muffins but I've only managed to find them in the odd garage here and there, so I don't think they're widely stocked.

Any others?

I havent discovered any others yet, Bakin Boys have a website and I've ordered directly from them, they have quite a good range but you have to order in bulk.

Forgot to mention - M&S do a big range of their own brand nut free sweets (especially their kids range).

I'm a big fan of their speckled eggs at the moment Smile

www.itsnutfree.com supply Sainsburys and also Morrisons. They have a range of champagne truffles/easter eggs/chocolate and birthday cakes/gateauxs and the like.

Fabulous Baking Boys are available in Somerfield, but we just tend to stock up from their website.

Just seen an advert on tv for M&S Easter chocolate products, they say its nut free...yipee!

Cadbury UK has a lot of peanut and nut free products. I buy them at a few stores that import. I'm in Canada.

I went for a job at Cadbury a couple of years back, my nut allergy made me a liability and I was told that Cadbury could not guarantee any of their products were free from nuts. Itsnutfree.com and Kinnertons are your best bet Very Happy

Went past M&S today and couldn't resist sampling some new sweets. They do organic nut-free milk chocolate buttons which are a) rather nice, and b) on 3 for 2 offer at the mo Wink

I believe Cadburys "may contain" chocolate is the stuff they pump through the machines to clean them after manufacturing chocolate containing nuts. It's how they used to do it anyway and whole nuts were found in it at times.

We only ever have Cadburys creme eggs - we stick to kninnerton, sainsburys, galaxy and nestle.

i agree that you should always check labels as i have been caught out buying food i always trusted for my severly nut allergic daughter, as you get "new improved" or "tastier" then discover they have changed the ingredients, i didnt realise that a normal twix bar the normal 2 fingered sort, is fine, but the twix bars that come in the individual sleeve are made in a factory that uses nuts on that line, and im sure other sweets do this too, so worth an extra check
